Last year Lucian Freud became the most expensive living artist when “Benefits Supervisor Sleeping” sold for $33.6m at Christies, Freud has been described as the greatest living realist painter, although not everyone agrees – see the discussion on Art News Blog
Benefits Supervisor Sleeping
Freud’s paintings take months (sometimes years!) to complete, his models are usually people in his life – often members of his family, I love this one of his daughter Esther.
